Make Your Own Essential Oil Blends With Eucalyptus

Here's a collection of essential oil blends with eucalyptus globulus and eucalyptus radiata. If a recipe does not specify the type of eucalyptus, you can use either. First, make sure you understand eucalyptus essential oil benefits and cautions.

Respiratory and Immune Support

Use eucalyptus essential oil for colds, flu, congestion, and other respiratory issues.

Respiratory Salve

For adult use.

  • 1 ounce beeswax
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) jojoba oil
  • 3 25-ml jars

Melt beeswax in double boiler and slowly add jojoba oil. Stir well.

Prepare jars. To each 25-ml jar add:

  • 10 drops eucalyptus globulus essential oil
  • 10 drops rosemary (either camphor or cineole chemotype) essential oil
  • 7 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 4 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 3 drops lemon essential oil

Add an approximately equal amount of the melted mixture to each of the three jars. Cap quickly. Shake. Let the mixture become firm before using.

Sinusitis Relief

  • 4 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops peppermint essential oil

How to use:

  • Diffuse according to your diffuser's instructions.
  • Dilute in carrier oil for massage.
  • Make a compress.

Congestion-Relieving, Energizing Diffuser Blend

  • 3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 3 drops cardamom essential oil
  • 2 drops rosemary ct. camphor essential oil
  • 2 drops lime essential oil

Eucalyptus Essential Oil for Dry Cough Relief

  • 3 drops eucalyptus radiata essential oil
  • 2 drops thyme linalol essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon carrier oil

Apply a small amount to the back and chest at least twice a day.

  • 3 drops eucalyptus radiata essential oil
  • 3 drops marjoram essential oil
  • 2 drops black spruce essential oil
  • 1 drop juniper berry essential oil

Immune Boosting Inhaler

  • 5 drops eucalyptus radiata essential oil
  • 5 drops ravintsara essential oil
  • 5 drops tea tree essential oil
  • One blank aromatherapy inhaler

Add drops of essential oil to the blank cotton wick of the aromatherapy inhaler. Attach lid. Use the inhaler several times a day. Source: Essential Living

Pain Relief Essential Oil Blends With Eucalyptus

Tennis Elbow Relief

  • 1 tablespoon arnica oil
  • 1 tablespoon St. John's wort oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosehip seed oil
  • 8 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 8 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 6 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 2 drops roman chamomile essential oil

Blend oils. Apply to and around affected joint as needed.

Over-Exercised Muscle Pain Relief

  • 3 drops eucalyptus radiata essential oil
  • 3 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 4 drops ginger essential oil
  • 5 drops sweet marjoram essential oil
  • 1 tablespoon carrier oil

Headache Relief Stock Blend

  • 20 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 20 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 20 drops sweet marjoram essential oil
  • 20 lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil
  • 5 drops juniper essential oil
  • 5 drops basil essential oil
  • 5-ml dropper bottle

Blend oils in 5-ml dropper bottle. Ways to use:

  • Place 1 to 3 drops on a cotton ball or smell strip and inhale.
  • Make an aromatherapy inhaler using 10 to 20 drops. (Convenient for carrying with you.)
  • Diffuse according to your diffuser instructions.
  • Make a ready-to-use headache massage blend by adding 15 to 30 drops of the synergy to 1 ounce (30 ml or 2 tablespoons) of carrier oil.

For a quick headache blend:

  • 3 drops eucalyptus
  • 3 drops peppermint
  • 3 drops sweet marjoram
  • 1 drop lavender

Diffuse a few drops, use 1 to 3 drops on a cotton ball for direct inhalation, or dilute in carrier oil for massage.

Essential Oil Blends With Eucalyptus for Hair/Scalp Care

Hydrating Shampoo For Dry Hair

  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 10 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup liquid castile soap
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive or almond oil

Combine all ingredients in a jar or bottle. Close and shake to blend. Store the finished product in a cool place. Use as you would any other shampoo.

Stimulating Hair Oil Blend

  • 1 drop eucalyptus radiata essential
  • 1 drop peppermint essential oil
  • 2 drops ginger essential oil
  • 2 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 3 drops palmarosa essential oil
  • 3 tablespoons carrier oil

Apply 1 teaspoon to your hair. Wait at least 10 minutes and then shampoo as usual.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil Insect Repellents

Use eucalyptus essential oil for mosquitoes and other insects.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil Bug Repellent

  • 1/2 cup distilled water
  • 20 drops cedarwood essential oil
  • 15 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 10 drops patchouli essential oil
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil
  • One 4-ounce safe (PET) plastic spray bottle

Add the water and essential oils to the spray bottle. Shake well to mix.

To use: Shake well. Spray skin and clothes every hour. Do not directly spray the face. You can spray your hands and wipe them onto your face but do not use on the hands and faces of young children and babies.

Ant and Pest Spray

  • 1/2 cup distilled water
  • 20 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 15 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • One 4-ounce safe (PET) plastic spray bottle

Add the water and essential oils to the spray bottle. Shake well to mix.

To use: Shake. Liberally spray surfaces and nooks and crannies. Wipe with a clean towel until damp. Use every day until you no longer have pests.
