Although the benefits and uses of angelica seed are similar to the more commonly used angelica root, the seed oil has it individual characteristics. Which oil you choose depends on individual needs and preferences.

Basic Angelica Seed Facts

Plant family: Apiaceae.

Production: Steam distilled from the seeds of the plant.

Aroma: Fresh, spicy, peppery.

Is angelica safe during pregnancy? No, according to multiple sources.

Is angelica essential oil safe for children? Yes, well diluted.

Cautions: Do not use an old or oxidized angelica seed oil, as it may cause skin irritation or sensitization due to the limonene content.

Unlike angelica root, the seed oil does not cause photosensitivity, although some sources state otherwise. However, some angelica oils might contain both root and seed oils, so make sure you buy from a trusted source.
